The Story of Cain and Abel
Is, in my opinion, the universal story because it’s about everyone.
It is the story about suffering rejection.
The feeling of rejection is the feeling of being unloved.
The feeling of being unloved is hell.
The greatest hell we can suffer in life, therefore, is suffering the feeling of being unloved.
Cain felt unloved.
Cain felt rejected.
Cain felt hell.
Often when these feelings...
On Temporary Conclusions
A bit provocative, I admit, and perhaps oxymoronish. But I still think there’s utility in calling them such.
I understand though. Perhaps the words are more jarring than helpful to most.
Let me see if I can help.
That which we conclude is often said to be that which we believe is ‘final,’ or is unable to be augmented.
I do not use the word ‘conclude’ in this...
What Revelation Means to Me
Revelation: One who believes in revelation will possesses the continual need to subjugate, revise and temper all their conclusions made about reality. Nothing is conceptually permanent but the very definition of revelation. That is, the continual need to curb, modify and reorganize all conclusions made about reality. People will receive further revelation as they exuberate more and more...

ever been lost?
It was once warned that strange and forbidden paths ought not to be tread upon. In younger days I sometimes wished I had taken that advice more seriously, but as of recently, I’m glad I didn’t.
Without diving into particulars, it sufficeth me to say that those days were filled with thorns and crooked paths. Even the memories lay blotched with dreary edges and cobwebs: haunting,...

What Faith Means to Me
Faith: is the moving cause of all intelligent action. All action is therefore predicated upon the faith one has to move into the future; the unknown; the darkness. It is that which unifies one present moment action to the next, bit by bit, piece by piece, till we accomplish the things our hearts most desire. Is it true that whatever people accomplish in life is brought to them because of their...

What Hope Means to Me
Hope: is what I like to refer to as, “honest imagination.” Honest imagination is two-fold. First honesty. We must be honest enough to admit that there are many things wrong in the world. Our honesty should not, however, cause us to trudge in the mire of pessimism or even borderline nihilism. This is where imagination comes in to bolster unbridled honesty. We have to possess the proper imagination...
Why I follow you.
havent-got-a-prayer:
I follow you because I enjoy this little window into your mind. I am intrigued by your thoughts, your pictures, your words, and your moments which you choose to share. I follow you because you inspire me and you give me hope. You allow me into your head for a bit, and I like the time I spend there. I follow you because you make me laugh. I follow you because you’re easy...

What Charity Means to Me
Charity: means descending from our clouds of comfort and spending time with people in slime. It means not casting unrighteous judgment on people who differ from us—no matter how extreme. It means ridding our dialogue of ad hominem attacks and subtle jibes. It means recognizing that there are people out in the world who have serious, sincere questions and concerns. It means one’s willingness to...
On Extremists
I’ve heard of a few Extremists throughout the ages:
[Note: by ‘extremists,’ I mean those who chose to stand for something in their day that was considered strange, bold, pretentious and perhaps oriented itself outside the realms of what was safe or popular.]

-Isaac Newton

What Humility Means to Me
Humility: means possessing a healthy form of agnosticism, atheism and skepticism.
First agnosticism. It means grounding one’s self to the earth, admitting that knowledge is an evolutionary process and that we learn piece by piece. It means admitting that we do not know all things completely, but that we need to continually remind ourselves to form temporary conclusions about most things.
Second...

optimisto:
(via donamajicshow)
Right, but “know what we know” becomes less about “what” and more about “how”? Ex: we eat what we eat. Great what are we eating? We do what we do. Oh, and what is it exactly do you think it is we’re doing? But agnosticism poses the question of questioning knowledge. Not “what do we know?” but “how do we know?” I prefer “Just because we don’t think about...

On Proof
Proof: means a logical conclusion derived from reality; it must be warranted by antecedent knowledge, which itself may rest on previous chains of knowledge; reverting back to the metaphysically given. It is the process of establishing truth by reducing a proposition to axioms: Existence, Consciousness and Identity. It is the process of establishing a conclusion by identifying the proper...
Epistemological Concepts
If every epistemological concept and conclusion were assessable directly from observation, then knowledge would involve no principle of order. Some knowledge is not so easily available to man; such knowledge can be known only though a chain of increasingly complex cognitions, each level making possible the next one.
